This Data Policy outlines the types of information we collect, how we use and store it, and how we ensure the protection and proper management of your data. Our goal is to offer you a safe, secure, and transparent experience while using our platform.
Types of Data We Collect
We collect various types of data to provide you with the best possible service. This data includes:
Personal Identification Information:
This includes your name, gender, date of birth, email address, phone number, and address, which are essential for creating your account and facilitating services like ride bookings.
KYC Data
For driver and vehicle owner verifications, we collect basic personal identification information, vehicle registration details, driving license information, and bank account details or UPI address for payouts. We also collect KYC data for customers in certain cases, such as Aadhar card verification for identity verification.
Location Data
To track your pickup location during ride searches and provide real-time tracking during ongoing rides, we collect location data when you allow location services for the app.
Payment Data
We do not store any financial data, such as credit/debit card details, UPI information, or bank account numbers. All payment data is securely processed through CashFree Payments Network, a trusted and reliable payment gateway.
Media and Documents
Photos, videos, or other media that you upload as part of your profile, verification process, or ride-related documents are stored and used for verification purposes.
How We Process Data
All data is processed to ensure smooth operations, as follows:
KYC Data
When verifying your identity or performing KYC checks for drivers, vehicle owners, or customers, PointPe interacts with secure networks like API Setu and CashFree Payments
KYC Verification Network's / Third Party Service
These networks provide us with a token upon successful verification, which allows us to retrieve the data again, if necessary, for future use. The KYC verification process is managed securely through these platforms.
Location Data
We use your location data to determine pickup points and provide accurate ride tracking during active trips. This data is only shared with authorized drivers and is deleted once the ride is completed. The location data is only accessible for the duration of the ride.
Payment Data
PointPe does not store any financial data. All payment-related information is securely processed via CashFree Payments Network, which handles all transactions and stores the necessary financial details on its secure servers.
Data Deletion Policy
We are committed to respecting your rights regarding data deletion. If you choose to delete your account or request the deletion of your data, we follow the process outlined below:
How to Delete Your Data
To request account deletion and data removal, you can contact our support team at support@pointpe.com or use the Account Deletion feature in the app. You will need to verify your identity before we process the request.
Once your deletion request is confirmed, we will initiate the following:
Token and KYC Data
It takes 1 week - 3 weeks to clear all KYC tokens and related data from our servers. Since KYC data is processed through API Setu and CashFree Payments Network, we also send a request to these networks to delete the corresponding tokens and personal data.
Data Deletion from External Providers
We coordinate with CashFree Payments Network and API Setu to ensure that KYC-relate tokens is deleted/expire from their systems as well, So that our system can't retrive your data again from that token. These networks are obligated to process deletion requests as per the legal and security policies that govern them.
Financial Data
Since PointPe does not store any payment-related data, you do not need to worry about deleting any financial data. CashFree Payments Network handles this data independently, and we ensure that no financial data remains on our platform once you request account deletion.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide our Services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. Data will be retained for the following purposes:
- To fulfill our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
- To comply with applicable laws, including those governing financial transactions, identity verification, and tax reporting.
Once the purpose for which the data was collected is fulfilled, we delete or anonymize it unless we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory reasons.
Third-Party Data Sharing
We may share your data in the following scenarios:
Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party providers who assist in running our platform, such as payment processors, hosting providers, and cloud storage services.
Legal Compliance
We may disclose your data in response to a legal obligation or as required by law, such as in the case of a subpoena, court order, or government request.
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of the transaction.
How We Transmit and Process Your Data
As part of our operations, PointPe uses PingNow as its API endpoint for transmitting and processing user data. The data you submit through our app is securely transmitted to pingnow.pointpe.in, which processes the information for ride bookings, payment transactions, and other related services.
PointPe also uses Firebase to securely upload and store user-uploaded media such as profile photos, documents for verification, and ride-related media. These media files are then retrieved and displayed via our CDN service at cdn.pointpe.in, ensuring fast and reliable access to media across the app and website.
This infrastructure ensures that your data is securely transmitted and accessed through reliable and trusted platforms.
Your Data Security
We take your data security seriously and use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information. This includes encryption during transmission (such as SSL/TLS encryption), secure storage, and other safeguards to protect your personal information.
Despite our efforts, no security system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data. By using our Services, you acknowledge and accept this inherent risk.
Location Data
We collect your location data during ride requests and ongoing trips to ensure accurate pickup points and provide live tracking for the ride. This location data is used solely for ride-related purposes, such as:
Pickup Location
To determine where the ride should begin (When you otp for home pickup rides).
Live Tracking
To allow you to track the status and location of your ongoing ride, you can also share this with your relatives or parents for added safety. The location can be viewed via a secure website link (where we share a unique, encrypted tracking code) and through the app.
Your Rights and Choices

Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
Correction
Request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
Deletion
